Turn the Strawberry Upside Down!

Turn the Strawberry Upside Down! 0

Greta Hammond here today!
For this month, I got to work with the super adorable kit, Fruit Basket. The fruit dies and foam pieces are so fun and the colors in the papers and toppings totally make this kit pop! I think it's my new favorite!

My first card highlights the versatile apple die.

I chose to make this die look like it had been cut in half by die cutting the apple onto white cardstock as well as red paper for the outside edge.

I used the outside foam piece for dimension and then chalked the "core" and added the black seed gems to finish it off.
For my second card, I turned the strawberry die upside down, and used the stem and leaf die cuts to make two pears.

I made the first pear into a shaker box but used the negative foam piece to create dimension on the second pear.

I tucked the second pear behind the first, and cut the foam piece to match. A little inking brings them both to life.  A "perfect pear"!

Red, Orange and Yellow Two Ways!

Red, Orange and Yellow Two Ways! 0

It's Greta Hammond with a couple of new cards to share. I was feeling the summer heat here so my color scheme seems to reflect that!
My first card was created using the Speech Bubble Foam Front. I added leftover foam heart from the Hearts Shaker Card into the center of the speech bubble.
I outlined the speech bubble by cutting the speech bubble in red paper. I then used scalloped scissors to cut around the negative space to create the scalloped edge. I accented it with Iridescent bubbles.
For my last card, I wanted to really play up those summery colors so I cut strips from six different papers, yellow to red. I adhered the strips onto a piece of white paper and used the Foam Front Heart Die to cut the front of the card.
For my title, I used the hello die cut from the Heart Throb Kit and cut it three times with kraft paper. I then layered them and inked the top edge together to give a bit of dimension. A few embellishments finish off the card.

Bright Colored Cards - Pretty Presents Shaker Kit

Bright Colored Cards - Pretty Presents Shaker Kit 1

Hi Everyone!
Greta Hammond back with you today to show a couple more cards from the Pretty Presents Shaker Kit. I chose to play up the yellow, orange and red in this set of cards. For my first card, I gave my white cardstock matting a bit of texture by embossing it with a fun chevron pattern.

I cut a present from the orange paper and made it into a shaker box. To make the bow, I cut the present two more times and snipped off the bows, then folded and layered them on top of each other. 3D.

The bright yellow strip layered onto red makes the stamped sentiment really pop! A few punched circles and gems finish off the card.
My second card showcases the taller present shakers paired with a taller stamped sentiment.

I chose to adhere them to kraft cardstock to show off the bright vibrant colors. For a little variety, I snipped off the bow on the presents, added the rectangles to the shaker boxes and then to the card. I then used matching paper to cut bows using the other square present die cut and added them directly to the card.

I stamped the sentiment on white cardstock and matted it with red paper to tie into the rest of the card. A little faux stitching with a white pen finishes it off.

Hey everyone!
Greta Hammond here with my first post on the Queen and Co blog! My first assignment was a couple of cards using the new, super cute June kit, Pretty Presents
I wanted to highlight the bright, cheery colors in the kit on this first card so I kept things simple with a white background and three small shaker presents in a line.
I color matched the toppings to the presents to continue the simple design and finished it with a sentiment stamped in black directly on the white background.
For my second card, I wanted a softer feel and created texture by layering the presents and patterned papers.
I created the presents by die cutting each several times with different papers to achieve a layered look. Two of the presents are flat die cuts while the third is a shaker box, designed to be the focal point of the card.
A stamped sentiment cut into a banner finishes off the card.
