Shake it Like a Queen!

Shake it Like a Queen! 1

There’s nothing like taking a day away from diaper changing and laundry to make you feel like royalty. That’s the magical feeling teaching at the Queen for a Day event left me with earlier this month. Wanting to capture that sweet escape, I made this page for my scrapbook.
When I thought about how to document this fun using the new Tag Shaker Kit, the flag-shaped tag jumped out at me. Its points were a crown in the making!
Originally, I stopped with some pen doodling, but something didn’t feel right…
My husband to the rescue. I love having someone who genuinely cares about what I do to bounce ideas off of when I’m feeling stuck. We brainstormed a bit, and the crown evolved. I suggested covering the pen lines with small strips of paper.
Cory offered up the idea of a row of gems along the bottom, which I love! Nothing like bling to make a crown affair feel complete.

I placed the journaling in another tag from the kit, which makes reading it a bit more exciting.
To ground the page, I matted it on white cardstock and stitched it in place. I also added some pen doodling.
I just adore the rainbow paper in the Flirty Floral paper pad, so I decided to make my crown have a rainbow feel by adding pink and orange toppings to the first tag, green and yellow to the second, and blue and purple to the third. I also topped each point on the crown with those same colors, using Epoxy Dots.
I’ve had such fun watching the month of tag creations take shape. From darling snowmen to photo-filled tags, there is so much you can do with this cute kit. I hope you’ll have fun with it.

Seasons of Change!

Seasons of Change! 1

Hi there!  Laurie Schmidlin with you again today, and I have two more cards featuring the Shaped Shaker Tags Kit

Tags are one of my favorite things to create as they are so versatile!  They dress up any gift so wonderfully or they create the perfect focal image for a card.  Turn that tag into a shaker and it goes to a completely new level!

I love wreaths and the circle tag included in the Shaped Shaker Tag Kit is the perfect size for one!  I created the shaker tag, filling it with several different toppings, and adhered it to a piece of patterned paper from the Dots Paper Pad.  I embellished with a couple of Yellow Rivets next to the die cut sentiment.

For my second card, I created a festive Holiday card.  The card was very easy to put together but the frosty toppings in the shaker tag make it look detailed and one of a kind!  I chose toppings that are silver and white in color and backed it with a strip of paper from the Stripes Paper Pad.

Life is so Good with Circles!

Life is so Good with Circles! 1

Hello friends!
It's Mary Ann Jenkins here today with a layout I made using the new Shaped Shaker Tag Kit.

I used the circle tag dies, but then cut off the actual tag piece and made them in to circle shakers. I filled the shakers with a mix of toppings and colors, I like the different textures combined together!

I added the patterned paper centers that were left over from cutting the circle tags, and also added a few larger and smaller circles too.
To finish it off, I added the cute epoxy camera and the black and white Lollies.

The Shaped Shaker Tag set was so fun to work with, I've already started on another project to share with you!

Toppings Cocktail!

Toppings Cocktail! 1

Hello, Amy Sheffer joining you today! I've been enjoying the Shaped Shaker Tags so much, and have two more projects to share today. My shaker projects tend to feature just one type of topping, but today, I'm sharing shaker tags that I've loaded up with a mixture of quite a few different toppings. I've left just enough space for the tags to shake; otherwise, they are loaded up with goodies!
Happy Bee Day
First up is a happy "bee" day card featuring a mixture of black, white and yellow. I started by stenciling a honeycomb pattern  onto the background, then adhered the shaker foam right to that background. The different toppings are: yellow Bright Pearlies Toppings; black and white Matte Pearlies Toppings; black and yellow Posies Toppings; and black, white, and yellow Sequins Toppings.
Happy Bee Day
I topped the tag with a light gray tag die-cut, a pair of stamped and die-cut bees, and a sentiment. I also used some of the toppings as embellishments around the shaker tag.

Black and white twine from the Twine Assortment finishes off the tag.

Next is a tag for a Halloween treat. I love this cocktail of orange, green, purple, black and white!

Here we have orange, purple and green Pops Toppings, green Pastel Diamonds Toppings; orange, green, and black/white Sequins Toppings, and orange Baby Beads.

Last, I used some Purple Sparkle String to attach the tag to the treat container.
Don't be afraid to mix your toppings or to fill your tags to the brim!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Pumpkin Tags!

Pumpkin Tags! 1

It’s the Shake Pumpkin, Charley Brown.
Who needs crazy carving knives when you have the Queen & Co. Tag Kit and Toppings? The circle tag makes a great pumpkin, just in time for patch season.
I die cut several tags and used the center negative space from a few as flat background pumpkins. I then created shakers for the foreground gourds. Since the tops of pumpkins are often a light brown color, I wrapped the top of one of my die cut tags in twine to mimic the stem.
For the other, I trimmed a portion of the tag away and then adhered epoxy circles to create my stem.
For my page background, I created a DIY pumpkin using my watercolor paints, some twine, and and orange gel pen. I used a large lid as my stencil and went around it several times with my pen, moving the lid ever so slightly between each go ‘round. I then dry-brushed some orange paint onto the page. If you look closely, you’ll see I also framed the upper left and lower right corners of the pumpkin with blue paint.
To give my flat background a little lift, I hand-stitched around the pumpkin using twine.
I cut the stem from patterned paper and the leaf from felt. The vine is a little green yarn.
This pic simply doesn’t do these sweet gems justice. Queen’s NAME accents are so shiny and pretty. They make any title more striking!
Tag, you’re it! I hope you have a blast picking your pumpkins this fall and scrapbooking your adventures after the fact.

Prep for Christmas!

Prep for Christmas! 0

Hi there,
Kim Watson here with some cute packaging & card ideas using the fabulous new Shaped Shaker Tag kit. I adore tags, & what better way to jazz up a gift or card than with a special shaker tag.
When thinking of ideas to create with this cute set, I couldn't help but to get into the holiday mood. The circle die reminds me so much of a tree ornament, that I decided, hey...I have nothing to lose by getting started on some of my Christmas crafts early. Take a look at these.

The circle shaker was transformed into a bauble by adding red dot paper from the Delightful Dots Paper Pad & a festive mixture of Green Sequin Toppings, Red Bright Pearlies & White Pops Toppings on a black background. A cardstock holly sprig, Red Twinkle String & a few gold bits, finished off the card perfectly.

My next idea was so much fun to make. Using exclusive cut files, designed to fit the circle tag, I transformed the circle shaker into a super cute snowman. Did you notice Mr Freezes' belly? It is a foam shaker filled with White Pops Toppings & Clear Diamond toppings, I love how they give him a little snow
filled twinkle.
